I used to try to provide a list of lighthouse items and also their information, but due to the time constraint and my interest in preparing a collection I gave up to do so in the recent years. Instead I put the emphasize of this web page to be a platform to download my collection "Pharos". It is the product of my love to philately and also a means to promote the formal way of philately.
Most people just buy and place their stamps in their stamp album and have no idea on the message of the stamp. Philately is in fact the study of postage history, it is therefore, philatelist also has a good understanding on the message and history of the "philatelic items". Philatelic items are much more than that of just stamps, it includes covers ( not necessary FDCs), postage cancels, booklets, postage stationeries, etc. Your joyful in philately can be enhanced if you can broaden your collection by collect and study more than stamps.
It is always impossible to collect all the philatelic items in the world due to its volume, therefore philatelists defined certain ways to refine their collection target, and "topical collection" becomes one of the most popular method. Topical collection is by its name collection by topic, you can collect by topic of ships, cars, cats, birds, waterfall, etc and I select to collect lighthouse.
My collection is named under "The lighthouse of Alexandria" which was located on a small island - Pharos, outside the port of Alexandria. It took care of the ships in the Middle Age for 2000 years and was collapsed after an earth quark in 1000 years before.
The version of my collections were all used to be one of the exhibits in various philatelic exhibitions. The latest version "Pharos IV" is one of the exhibit in the PhilaKorea 2002 Exhibition youth section. They did not obtain a large award in those exhibitions, this was because the items included are not rare and the topic by itself is not attractive when compare with "water", "love", "color" and etc.
Pharos IV was my last collection during my life as a youth philatelists. I am now get started to work and do not have time update the collection frequently. The next collection Phaors V may be completed after three or four years. By the way, I selected a better resolution to scan new collections, the file size is larger.
