What is lighthouse philately ?
Lighthouse Philately is the collection of lighthouse stamps and any other philatelic items.
What is philately ?
Some people say philately is stamp collecting. We buy stamps from post office or from stamp dealers, then put them in the stamp album. This ended the 'whole process'. But I don't agree with that. Philately is on one hand 'collect philatelic items' and the other hand 'collect philately knowledge'.
Why collect lighthouse stamps ?
That's really a very difficult question. I collect lighthouse stamps just because I love both lighthouse and philately. And it is hard for me to take the whole lighthouse to my home, so I think why don't me collect lighthouse on stamps.
Is there only a small amount of lighthouse stamps issued ?
Not really! There are only a few topical stamps named "Lighthouse" but there are many stamps have lighthouse on the background. And the most interesting thing is that you can find a lighthouse in the postmark or in a postcard.
How can I get started ?
It's easy, there are many web site selling lighthouse stamps, the link may be helpful
What is the final stage of collecting stamps ?
Make a collection of course! Freshman of this field may find it helpful from joining stamp clubs and visiting exhibitions.
Is the webmaster going to expand the web ?
Absolutely, you are welcome to visit the web monthly, I'm going to scan all items I have (and I'm still buying). Also, you are welcome to exchange or sell lighthouse philatelic items with me. But sorry, I don't sell any of them.
